Classroom Valentine Boxes

Last year, I dropped the ball.

I sent my son to school with a Valentine themed gift bag that I picked up at Target for his Valentine exchange.   A few other Moms made the same mistake I did....we were newbies, and we didn't hear the end of it for weeks!

You see...all of the other kids brought elaborately decorated boxes for their valentines.  Having a gift bag meant your Mom didn't love you enough to help you decorate a box and that she probably spends her evenings with a box of wine.  NOTE: Do not let your kid decorate an old box of wine.  I'm all for recycling but that is borderline cray cray.

That day I vowed to come up with the best dang box I could find and that we'd decorate that thing to within an inch of it's life.   I present to you.....Classroom Valentine Boxes!

These boxes are from The Container Store ($1.99) and the amazing stick on hearts are from Michaels.  I love the boxes because you can cut the slit to accommodate any size valentine and it has a handle!

The other great thing is that they come unfolded so you have a flat surface for decorating and then you can fold it up (and tape the bottom) when you're done.

  9. That is really cool and I'm glad the box phenomenon hasn't entered our school district yet. They make their own envelopes at school. :-)
