Random List....Before My Head Explodes

I feel like I have a million things going on in my head and if I don't get them out I'll burst!

I also feel like I have a million things to do.  I think I'll make my to-do list here so I can cross stuff off.  Yeah, that will motivate me.

  • Read Nothing Daunted (checked this out from the library two weeks ago)
  • Read Laughing at Wall Street (free advanced copy)
  • Finish cutting out material for my Orange quilt
  • Finish planning Holiday Meals
  • Finish planning Elfcapades
  • Read Martha Stewart Living
  • Research The Nutcracker Tickets (nosebleed for $20)
  • Make a FAQ page for my blog
  • Mail School Pictures to grandparents

There.  That feels better already!

Boots

Last week, I won a $250 gift card to Zappo.  I bought two things with it.  A pair of knee high boots and a white v neck t-shirt.  I'm super excited about the boots and have decided to wrap my giant calves in compression wraps to make sure that they are small enough for the boots.  I'm also searching for THE best white v neck t-shirt.  I love them!

What I Wore

Speaking of fashion.  I've become obsessed with how I look since my son started Kindergarten.  I have worn make up and done my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY since August 18.  Even on the weekends, it's a habit now.  I love putting together outfits from my closet and buying jewelry from Charming Charlie to go with it.  My next mission.  A new handbag!  I've also been taking pictures of my outfits to keep track of them and will be posting them on my Facebook page.  If you aren't already....go like my page so you don't miss anything.  Do you have a fan page?  Leave me the link so I can like your page too.

Kim Kardashian

I don't like her....or her family, and her sudden divorce filing after 72 days is pissing me off.  I think that as punishment for being so ridiculous, she should have to stay married to Kris and spend every waking moment with him.  My intuition is telling me that everyone should boycott everything and anything KARDASHIAN. STOP the INSANITY!

Halloween and Friends

We had a GREAT time on Halloween!  And I don't have a picture to show for it.  We went later in the evening after Keith got home from work and it was a mad rush to put on costumes and I took one picture and it turned out crappy.  I'm going to dress them up again this week and take proper pictures.

The really great thing about Halloween is that we went trick or treating with our new friends from school.  Alex is friends with two sweet girls and I've really hit it off with them mother's.  We've become such good friends that we actually had a Girls Night Out Saturday night and went to a bar.  I came home at 1am.

My costume: Sexy PTA President

Christmas

Are you planning yet?  Have you bought any gifts?  Are you going to see The Nutcracker?  There are only 51 days until Christmas!

Pinterest

I'm having so much fun pinning stuff!  I even created a board for the people planning my son's Winter Party for his Kindergarten class.  Are we friends on Pinterest yet?

I may be taking a short blog break (three day weekend?) to get my to-do list done!  If you don't see me...have a great weekend!

No Trespassing

On Tuesday...the kids and I escaped the heat and went to Evergreen to hike around Evergreen Lake. We had an awesome time and I packed a bento picnic lunch.

While walking around the lake, we found this. And we laughed and laughed.

What You Missed....

Every now and again....a catch up post is needed because stuff happened that didn't make it into a blog post.

Laundry Room Update:

This week....there has been a crew here rebuilding the basement and laundry room.  They found asbestes so there has also been a hazmat crew here. Good Times....

Squirrels...Everywhere:

Have you ever noticed that when you don't like something...you see it everywhere?

Squirrel Concealer
If this concealer is made from dead squirrels....I'll buy it!

When I'm 64:

I've discovered that when I'm old....I'm going to be that lady that yells at kids that are on her lawn.  I'm already one step away from Gladys Kravtiz.  Some kid stuck a gogurt container in the grill of my SUV and they trapsed their muddy feet around in front of my apartment.  I wanted to buy this sign...but iKeith wouldn't let me.

Kindergarten:

Last week....Alex had an evaluation for Kindergarten.  This charter school is serious business!  Wednesday we had an appointment with the Kindergarten Team to find out how he did. I discovered that being home schooled by Nick Jr isn't really working out for us.  If you want to know more about how this meeting went....email me at Connie@youngandrelentless.com for the full story. I should have known that his day was going to go wrong for me.  First I dropped a carton of eggs on the floor, then the cantaloupe was rotten.  Last straw....as we left the school. I broke my sunglasses.

On the way home, I made iKeith stop at the liquor store by our house.  They know me there now.  I seem to always feel obligated to tell him why I'm buying a four bottle of wine.  I'm sure he loves my excuses.  I explained that my son was starting Kindergarten in the fall and I'm stressed out.  He advised me to switch to boxed wine in August....and he asked me if I knew my glasses where broken.

What I Did When I Should Have Been In Austin:

I was supposed to go to Austin last weekend.  I really wanted to go but finances didn't allow it.  I had a genius plan to sell my Canon Rebel to my bother in law Robert.  He's rolling in dough and always borrowing my camera when he travels.  He said he wanted to buy it....and then said he couldn't afford it. There went my plans.  I was really bummed! Lesson Learned: Even a gay man will not buy the cow when the milk is free.

I was in Austin in spirit and the ladies were nice enough to text and tweet me the entire weekend.  We sent funny pictures and videos back and forth and it was almost like I was there.  Here is a sample.

Friday night....one of the ladies (IA) tweeted me her phone number.  Sunday....I discovered that she had accidentally sent me the wrong number.  In the meantime, I sent ALL OF THOSE VIDEOS to some stranger.  When I started inquiring as to WHERE he was...he finally informed me that his name was TOM and that he didn't know me.

To see a video of really happened in Austin visit Becca's blog, and you could also win a prize.  You will even see a picture of ME in the video (i'm wearing a mask). And if you like her video and want her to make one for you...she does that too.

Thong Underwear Bandits

Hey...I'm packing the truck and moving to Denver this week so I wrote some random posts and will re-publish one a couple of my favorites.  See you next week!

Back in May in a suburb of Denver that I'm NOT moving to....two guys robbed a gas station.

The story intrigues me because I have to wonder about the conversation that happened between these two guys before they robbed the store.

Blue Shirt: Hey...I'm short on cash.  Let's rob a store.

Tattoo: Okay.  But we need a disguise.

Blue Shirt: Let's see if my sister has some panty hose.

Tattoo: Great idea.

Blue Shirt: Oh crap, all my sister has are these THONG underwear.

Tattoo: Good for us she weights 400 pounds and they fit great over our faces like this.

Blue Shirt: Let's do this thing!

NO MORE DRAMA

WOW!  This week is going to go down in history as being the worst one ever!  I'm pretty sure that my MOTHER disowned me (again) in an hate mail email this morning.  I didn't even do anything this time!  Damned if I do and damned if I don't.  In the words of my 3 year old...

I QUIT!

Seriously...I give up.  I can't do this anymore.

EDITED:  THANK YOU MightyM for the song.  This is so freakin perfect because Young and Restless theme music is in the song and Bobbi and I call our parents Victor and Nikki!  All morning I've been calling them The Volturi and my mother....Jane.  LOL!

And now back to our regularly scheduled programing.....

Every now and again...someone comes to my blog from googling my name. I always like to see what state or country they are coming from in case an  bill collector old boyfriend or friend is looking for me.

Have you ever googled your name? I know I'm not the only Connie Weiss in the world but I really hope that when someone is looking for me they don't think the number two blog that comes up in google is me.

Because I don't kill animals.

Expiration Dates

Time, why do you punish me?
Like a wave bashing into the shore
You wash away my dreams.

Time, why do you walk away?
Like a friend with somewhere to go
You left me crying

I can't get enough done lately.  I live with this sense of urgency that no one else in my life seems to have.  There are so many expiration dates I'm dealing with...my 40th birthday which feels like the end of the world, Calvin's job (they want him to work nights and weekends...for what?) and the project that he's been working on (people like it, no one wants it).  People act like we have all the time in the world...but we don't.  The hourglass has been turned over and the sand is running through fast.....

Time is wasting
Time is walking
You ain't no friend of mine
I don't know where i'm goin'
I think I'm out of my mind
Thinking about time

We've started talking about Kindergarten with Alex.  He wants to go to school so badly and he's growing up so fast that I'm becoming more and more aware of how little time I have left with him...everyday, all day.  I laid next to him in bed the other night and tried to forget that he's already four.  FOUR.

Time, you left me standing there
Like a tree growing all alone
The wind just stripped me bare, stripped me bare
Time, the past has come and gone
The future's far away
Now only lasts for one second, one second
Can you teach me about tomorrow
And all the pain and sorrow
Running free?
'Cause tomorrow's just another day
And I don't believe in time

This beautiful girl here.  She moved out of her crib yesterday.  Sleeping on a mattress on the floor like a college freshmen. She's got a memory like a steel trap and she's got the attitude of a teenage girl...with her slamming doors and being mad at cha.  Thank goodness her anger is shortlived and she's still small enough to curl up on my lap for a cuddle.  This time will end too.  Soon...I won't be cool anymore and she won't want to be seen with me.

Time, why you punish me?

My horoscope today says: You may not be able to see the path laid out before you in perfect detail, but past experience and instincts serve you well.

KALEIDOSCOPE
PAJAMAS
GAZILLION
7. Favorite song lyrics

A couple updates:

Dentist: Tomorrow...I get to have a root canal that I had done 7 years ago, redone. As I recall....when I had this root canal done...I was a poor single receptionist and I had to make payments on the bill. I'm beyond irritated. THEN...I need to have three impacted (and one regular) Wisdom Teeth pulled. The dentist was concerned about my age....and said that the older you are when you have them pulled the more traumatic it is. Traumatic? Really? That sounds GREAT. He expects I'll be recovering for a week! AND THEN...I get to finally have two crowns replaced. I guess I know where my tax refund...well, actually Calvin's tax refund is going.  Also, he thinks maybe my lip problem could be because of my wisdom teeth.

Calvin's Job Opportunity: Yesterday, he had a meeting with a guy in Denver and showed him what he's been working on for the last two months. The guy originally gave him 15 minutes to present but ended up spending 1.5 hours with him. He wants Calvin to meet with some high ups...in Salt Lake City.

Home Alone...with Mallory

One day our homes will be quiet. Today is not that day. ~ Steady Mom

Our boys have been off on their vacation for 3 days now and we've kept ourselves busy. But yesterday, we took the day off. We stayed in our pajamas until 11am (someone peed on theirs...I won't say who) and we played house and farted on each other. Mallory started that game....

It's so much easier having just one child in the house. I've prepared less food, picked up less toys and wiped one less bottom. The noise level is half of normal too...with less crying.  Although Mallory did get mad at me over some J-LO (jello) and stomp off to her room for 4 minutes.

But I miss my boy....

I forgot to tell you the story about the Tea Party. The beautiful little girl named Gabby that was sitting next to Bobbi was confused about how Mallory was Bobbi's niece because she thought that I was Bobbi's Mother.

I'm saving for a facelift....

My Allergist called yesterday with my lab results. Everything was negative! I do not have any systemic diseases and no allergies to venom. But I still have a fat lip. I have a dentist appointment today...perhaps my wisdom teeth are causing this? It's just so strange that it started that day I was stung by that Wisconsin Honey Bee....

I'm freaking out about the dentist....

I had an idea for a blog that I was really excited about.  It's basically a guide to The Top of Utah.  When we moved here I searched high and low for a place to find information about restaurants and things to do and it took so long to figure everything out.  I wanted to make a website where people could find this kind of info and blog about the different places as we visit them.  So, I'm working on that and I'll show it to you when I'm done.  I don't know how long we'll be living here so I wanted to make the most of our time that is left.

You know I'm an overachiever.....

Connie of WalMart

Several months ago, I made a football bet with my dear friend Jessica that the Denver Broncos would beat The Colts. The bet was the loser of this bet had to go to WalMart in a crappy outfit, take a picture and post it on facebook.

Last night...I settled our bet. The sad thing is that this was my actual outfit and we didn't have to add anything. I looked this bad yesterday. In my defense...TOM is here and I've been working super hard on my daughter's birthday extravaganza.

Oh...and can you believe that WalMart was completely out of poster board? I was so upset!  And Bobbi, had way too much fun snapping this picture.

Burning Questions

I like to keep a list of interesting ways that people have landed on The Young and The Relentless.  And if possible I like to answer the burning questions that cause people to google these things.  It's a bit of a public service that I like to provide to the world.

Jen Lancaster on Oprah
I get at least 2 folks a day coming here to ask this question.  As you know, I love Jen Lancaster and I would love to see her on Oprah but I don't think she's going to be on for a while....but maybe when her new book comes out in May!  Here's an idea...let's all write to Oprah and ask her to have Jen on....it would be super easy for Jen to run over there since she lives in Chicago.  Click HERE and fill out the form.

Lance Robertson Orange Jumpsuit

I didn't understand this one until I figured out that they were talking about DJ LANCE.  I'm not sure why he wears this...a more important question is...what's with the hat???

Relentless Crying 1 Year Old
All crying is relentless as far as I'm concerned.  My favorite trick is distraction....especially if it's a cookie.  Most kids will stop crying for a cookie.

Did Byrson off Young and Restless play on family matters?
Yes. And he was also friends with Michael Jackson.

Husband Tracker
I've used the iPhone app called Loopt to track my husband but he was always at the same place (work) and I got bored and stopped tracking him.  But from previous past life experience...if your man goes to bars, make friends with the bartenders and tip them generously...they will tell you everything you need to know.

Loving an Engineer
Where do I begin?  They don't get your jokes, they'd rather play World of Warcraft then make whoopee and the simplest things are difficult for them.  Buy lot's of pocket protectors and get yourself a WOW account.  Plus, if you can't sleep at night...ask them how work is going.

Reasons Why I Can't Sleep
Hubby snoring, hubby wheezing, kids crying, too dark in the kids room, kid is scared, hubby makes too much noise peeing, I drank too much water before bed,  text from some BIL at 1am, dog barking, brain working overtime, Mormon's lighting fireworks.

Yo Gabba Gabba Doll makes my kid cry
That's too bad.  That scary Mark makes my kid cry and what exactly is DJ Lance hiding behind that giant Boom Box?

Focus on the Family I like Jello
You must be from Utah and I think you need to take a breath there and focus on one thing at a time...like the family. I like Red Jello.

My second grade girls are being mean to the other girls
Ohhh....mean girls.  I don't like mean girls.  In my experience, mean girls are like this because they are insecure.  Plus, if they are popular...they love that other people will blindly follow them.  Can you find a common ground for all of the girls? I can't tolerate mean girls and I stay as far away from them as I can.  I've even been known to unfollow them on twitter.  If that doesn't work...give them cookies.

****

In other news, I reached another milestone on my diet....I'm no longer OBESE!!  YAY!  Also, Bobbi (my sisterwife) started the diet last weekend and then quit this morning because she only lost 2 pounds all week. I'm bummed because it was nice to have someone doing this with me.

Are you planning to participate in Simple Mom's Bookclub? I'm so excited to read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families and I'm ordering my book today along with another book I just found out about....but I'll tell you about it after I get it.

What's for dinner this week....my menu is up at my food blog and I'm doing great with my budget challenge!  Join us if your budget needs help.

Did you see the preview for The Bachelor on TV last night?  Tenley told Jake that she's PREGNANT!!  That will be the most dramatic season ever!  There's a pregnant gal on the show!

Not Just For Teenage Girls.....

This is Brent.

Brent likes Twilight....a lot.

People make fun of Brent for liking Twilight so he got this snazzy sweatshirt.

Brent's Granddaughter doesn't like this sweatshirt because it has a bad word on it.

And she reprimanded him.

Not Me!

I just love when I get a funny word verification.

P.S.  I am not watching The Bachelor this season. I tried....but once they showed Jake on the motorcycle at the end of a runway ala Top Gun...I threw up.  I can't stomach this season.

P.P.S.  I lost 10.2 pounds in my first week on my diet.

Too Much Sadness for One Week.

I can't even think about writing my Christmas update today. I was already struggling with my Christmas Spirit issues and then there has just been so much sadness this week.

Calvin's Great Aunt Rena passed away.  She was an amazing woman and a healer.  She laid hands on him after his near fatal car accident 10 years ago and all of his pain disappeared.  Rest in Peace Rena....

A baby boy the same age as Mallory drowned in his families swimming pool in Florida this week.  There has been lots of drama around this tragedy on twitter.  I feel horribly for this mother and her family.  What I'm going to tell you is....that based on what happened that day....I'm changing my ways.  I will be shutting down my computer more and spending a lot less time on twitter and facebook while my kids are awake.  They deserve to have my undivided attention for most of their day and nothing is more important than their safety and lives.  Rest in Peace Bryson......

I'm heartbroken over the mother that is missing from Salt Lake City.  Susan Powell has been missing for almost two weeks.  It's suspected that her husband is responsible.  He claims he took his children camping after midnight on the day she disappeared.  SERIOUSLY? I don't leave my house in the middle of winter with my kids much less take them camping!  Please pray for Susan Powell.....

Lastly, Calvin's secretary had a baby a month ago and this darling little girl is going in for surgery tomorrow to remove a tennis ball sized tumor from her chest.  Her name is Lexie, please say a prayer for her.

I'm sorry that I don't have happy thoughts today.  The kids just woke up and we're going to have a PJ day and watch Christmas shows and drink Hot Chocolate.  And probably start eating all the candy off from the Gingerbread house we made.

Clearing up the rumors....

I didn't want my little secret to get out. I thought we were being careful and that no one would get hurt. It was so innocent. But I have a confession to make....

Tiger was with ME at Sitscation.

But it didn't work out between us because of his GIANT head and he's a little too handy...if you know what I mean.

In all seriousness....this is the last guy I expected to cheat on his hot wife.  What the heck?  From what I know about him...he came from a great family and was a stand up guy.  Does this mean that all men are susceptible to cheating if the opportunity presents itself? Does this mean that all celebrities can't resist when someone *likes* them?  Does this mean that I have a chance with Chris Gorham?

My First Celebrity Crush

I think it's safe to say that I've been obsessed with boys for a long time.  And I've also been obsessed with celebrity boys for an even longer time.

The first poster to ever grace my bedroom walls....Shaun Cassidy.  Hey Deanie was my favorite song and I thought he was the cutest boy I'd ever seen.

And then my fickle heart lost interest in Shaun because there was a new boy in my life.

I fell hard for Michael Jackson...and his poster replaced Shaun on my wall.

I borrowed this list of firsts from Jennifer at Playgroups are No Place for Children....with her permission.

First memory: Watching Mighty Mouse in a little contraption at the grocery store.

First dog: Smokey....I was two and I called him F*cky.

First memory of being jealous: When Bobbi was born and my parents left me with their friends so my Mom could be alone with her.  Broke. My. Heart.

First time attending Sunday School: I went to a Lutheran Sunday School when I was 5 years old.  I told them my name was Connie Oldham (instead of Olson) and that it was my birthday every single week.

First roller coaster ride: Twister at Eliches in Denver

First time being mistaken for a boy:  Mom cut my long, long hair (it was to my waist) when I was 5 years old....I was such a tomboy that I looked just like a boy.

First huge disappointment: Not making Cheerleading in 8th grade.  I practiced for weeks!!

First big family vacation: Disney Land when I was 12.

First stay in the hospital:  Had tonsils out when I was 10.

First car: 1976 Red Vega Stationwagon....I could fit 5 girlfriends in it.

First job: Burger King when I was 16.

My Ears Are Bleeding!

Bobbi has the day off today because she has to work on Saturday. So I made her asked her if she wanted to go to Joann's with me and the kids and then to lunch. We had a lovely time and managed to distract the children enough that they were not aware that this Mc Donalds had a play area.  I wasn't interested in a free dose of swine flu.

On the way home....we sang a little ditty.  Mallory flipped her lid...scream at us to stop singing and then Alex said we were making his ears bleed.  I have no idea where they get their dramatics from .  Here's what we were singing.

By the way....I found my notebook! It was in my tote where I keep my unread magazines....I took it to my sick bed last weekend and stashed it in there for safe keeping. It was so safe I couldn't find it.

Also...day two of getting up and getting ready with REAL clothes and make up....working out GREAT!

I hope you're having a great Tuesday!

Have you seen my notebook?

NaBloPoMo....Day 9.

I have an excuse.....for why I'm posting so late today.

I lost my little notebook.  It's my idea book and it has all of my blog ideas in it and my menu for Christmas and notes about crafts I want to make.  I'm organized to a fault and I can't find it anywhere!

Also...I got an order for altered Clipboards from my dear friend Cari (I can't wait to tell you about Cari's business!) and my printer ran out of ink right as i was getting started.  I order my cartridges online because otherwise they cost more than I paid for the printer and it takes a few days for them to come.  I tried to get Calvin to just buy me a new printer and I could feel him rolling his eyes from 20 miles away.

I decided to turn over a new leaf this morning.  As soon as I got up...I took a shower, put on REAL clothes and some make up.  This new routine is being instituted out of necessity. You see...I rarely have anywhere to go and I live the life of a shut in.  I have a bad habit of staying in my pajamas for a couple days at a time because I'm not going anywhere so why get dressed.  And I intend to take a shower but sometimes the opportunity doesn't present itself until around 3pm and then I think...why bother.

Teri from Mighty M Family just told me on twitter that I should look for my notebook where Alex tried to hide the popsicles today.  Great Idea!  That's right....you heard me.  Alex tried to hide a box of popsicles in his room since I will only let him have ONE a day.  Little stinker!

So...I sit here with no thought about what to post about accept things that are on my mind.  Like what the hell was Rachel Zoe thinking when she fired Tay-Tay on Friday.  I'm freakin out like a crazy person about it and of course you know I think it is BA Nanas.

I'm heavily addicted to the song 3 by Britney Spears.  LOVE IT!  I've been playing it over and over again.  And my new rule of thumb is to NEVER look up the lyrics to her songs because they are always different than what I'm singing and are usually something dirty that I shouldn't be singing in the SUV with the children present.

And last but not least....my heart is heavy and I can't stop thinking about Grace Hill. She is the 15 month old baby that was run over and killed in her driveway on Saturday afternoon.  She was playing in the yard with 5 other children while her Dad and a friend were digging a pit with an excavator and loading the dirt into a truck.  The friend ran her over and didn't even realize it.  She died at the scene.  I just can't figure out how this happened?

Adventures in Shopping...and getting Lost.

NaBloPoMo...Day 7

It was a very busy day....but I'm posting just under the wire. I have some video from our day and I'll probably just add the funny parts to Friday's vlog....cuz I ran out of time so I'm just going to share some pictures with you.

We got up early this morning and went to get donuts. YUM!

Then we went to The Gateway in Salt Lake City. Me, Bobbi and Mallory did some serious power shopping. The funniest thing was when we were in Baby Gap and and Mallory freaked out. She didn't like anything in the store and screamed at me that nothing in that store was her size.  Little Diva!

We saw this in the window at Forever 21....by the way, I need one of these stores to move into my neighborhood because I wanted to go on a serious diet after being in there.

so I made Bobbi re-enact it inside.

We had a great time at Z Gallery.  Bobbi found a book that might prove helpful in figuring out her dogs sexuality.

And I saw a living room/dining room/ bedroom set up that made me want to run away from home and get my own apartment.

And we found some art for my fantasy apartment's bathroom.

We left downtown...and I thought we were going home and then Calvin got a wild hair up his butt and decided we were going to lunch but he got us kind of lost.  Bobbi and I were tweeting each other behind Calvin's back.  It went something like this.

@Connieaw Hubby has gotten us lost.  Bobbi pointed out to him that our fancy SUV has navigation system.  We are still lost.  Send Help.

@Shoegal1975 I'm confused as to why he won't us the navigation system.

@Connieaw This happens every time we come to SLC.  Please help me remember to not let him drive anymore.  I'm glad I brought granola bars.

@Connieaw  Alex wants to know where we are going....I'd like to know that too.

@Shoegal1975  Next time I'm driving!!

@Connieaw We are not LOST...he knows exactly where we are...by the airpot.

@Shoegal1975  His excuses are bullshit.

@Connieaw  Men can't admit when they're wrong.

@Connieaw  M just said it all.  *Oh Damn It*

@Connieaw  I'm going to need a drink when we get to our mythical destination.

@Shoegal1975  Holy Shit!  He found the highway.

@Connieaw  Calvin says we're really close now....I offered to google the address but he doesn't know the name of the place.

We finally made it....a place called Le Luna.  Mexican food...that was just okay and not worth the hassle of driving through the countryside and scary part of town to get to it.  By the way...we ended up in West Jordan which I've never heard of before.

Bobbi...with the giant dirty mind....molested this bear outside of the restaurant.  Alex is all...Get Off My Bear so I can touch it all over and get swine flu!

We still had some crap craft stores to visit and I had to get home and make a some advent calendar's for my Showcase on Etsy tomorrow!  I just finished a little bit ago.

Bobbi and I watched The Real Housewives of Orange County were shocked to discover that we are opposite teams!  I'm Team Tamra and she is Team Gretchen!  Can you believe it?  I even took the Which Housewife Are You Quiz and I'm Tamra!

My hair of many colors and the ARES 1-X launch

I'm snuggled up on the couch this morning with a big mug of coffee while I watch the first test launch of ARES 1-X. It's so exciting! not....lot's of waiting actually. Calvin and I got up at 5:30am to start watching NASA TV and those engineers aren't much for small talk so there is lot's of uncomfortable silence and then a splattering of activity and lots of beautiful pictures of the Florida coastline. Maybe this is why people aren't that into the space program....

I was looking through all my pictures on my computer the other day and I was laughing at all of my different hair styles and hair colors. I've always considered my hair to be one of my best features....so I decided to make a little slideshow...and it made me want to grow my hair and color it blonde again. What do you think?

I added a new item to Channeling Martha. I saw a cute pillow in the Crate and Barrel catalog and I was inspired! Check it out HERE.

EDITED: I've decided that watching a rocket launch is a lot like being in labor.  Hurry up and wait and then...oh sorry, not today!  The launch has been scrubbed due to weather.  I'm bummed.
