Guys with Blue Faces

In two days....a cute little movie is coming out.

MEGAMIND

We've been watching the trailers on TV and Apple TV for a while now and the kids are pretty excited to see it. This is our favorite trailer.

Every Tuesday the kids and I get lunch out somewhere...usually McDonalds. This week they were thrilled to see the Blue Man Group. Gosh they make me laugh! I had to remind them that this was for the new movie and not for the visually stunning sensation of blues guys playing with paint.

I have to say...I think this is one of the best toys we've gotten in a Happy Meal and the kids played with them for hours. Just don't aim them at your Mommy or your Brother. Got it!

I was not compensated by MEGAMIND, Dreamworks, McDonalds or the Blue Man Group. My family just really loves movies, fast food and guys with blue faces.

We'll Always Have Paris

I love movies!

I love going to the cinema and I love watching movies at home in the privacy of my home. I adore popcorn and raisinettes!

It came to my attention recently, that I have not seen many of 'the classics'. And I don't really think I can call myself a movie buff....if I don't see some of these iconic movies.

Saturday night....I watched Casablanca! I loved it and now I'm on a mission and I'm dragging iKeith along with me because we looked over the list of AFI's Top 100 movies and it's pitiful how many we've seen.  Of course, iKeith has seen more than me.

Here is a list of the top 20.  Once we've seen these...we'll move on to the next 20.  To see the entire list of 100 movies....click here.

Update on Moving...18 days to go

The last week of my life is a blur.

I've had my second to last dental appointment, iKeith had a root canal, I cleaned my house from top to bottom and only packed 6 boxes.  I attended a farewell dinner for Keith and did shots of Underground (it's like Jagger).  I sold some of my stuff and got my hair cut.

And Mallory started riding her bike.

Last week the realtor that we rent our house from called and wanted to show the house to some people. I panicked because I wanted the house to look good so that they could re-rent it and we'd get more money back and because MY LANDLORD WAS COMING!

It might as well have been Martha Stewart because I spent 5 hours cleaning and organizing. And then I didn't want to pack anything because everything was PERFECT.  I wanted to keep everything nice but that is so unrealistic when you have 4 other people and two dogs living with you.

iKeith works closely with some people from the Huntsville Office and we went to dinner with them.  I had a lovely time and they forced wanted me to do a couple shots.  I told them that I'm a Mommy and I don't do shots but they insisted.  They were kind of good.  Jennifer told me that she's a neat freak and her house looks like a magazine. For a moment, I daydreamed about what that must be like and then I remembered how much I love my family and decided I'm be really lonely because for me to live like that I'd have to live alone.

Hopefully, today...we'll find out if we got the apartment we wanted.  There are 18 days until the truck leaves the state with my belongings and I feel like I'm doing pretty well.  I've been packing up things I don't use all the time and questioning why I have it if I don't use it all the time but I just can't let go of my crockpot and fondue pot collections.  Or my 3 extra sets of dishes.

This move has proven to me that iKeith has hoarder tendencies and I know that he got them from his mother.  I found a power cord in our closet and I laid it on the dresser for him to see.  He told me that it goes to a lap top that he no longer owns and then he put it in his nightstand drawer.

WTF??  If it goes to a lap top that you NO LONGER OWN...then it is TRASH!  This is why I can't get him to go through boxes and let things go.  I need a professional.  I'm calling Oprah!

My hair hates Utah and I was tired of the dry, frizzy ends so I got it cut.  It's now an A-line Bob with the longest layer hitting just under my chin.   I think it looks really cute on me.  Mallory hates it and Alex told me that I have *Mom Hair*.  Which must be true because a little boy thought I was his Mommy at the movie theater Saturday night.

We saw Inception and it is amazing!  You really have to pay attention and I don't advise drinking two glasses of Chardonnay right before you see it.  You just might miss parts of it and then have to have them explained to you on the drive home.  The buzz is that this movie will be nominated for an Oscar for Movie of the Year.  It also made 60 Million over the weekend.  See it.  You won't be disappointed.

For those of you that have been following the saga of my fat lip.  After all of the allergy testing and dental work...it's still swollen.  It has now been a year since the bee sting and I still have a fat lip.  It's not quite as bad as it was 4 months ago so I'm hoping that it's starting to go away for good.  I'm so tired of the way it has altered my appearance and I was considering getting restiline in my bottom lip so that they would match and I would look more like Angelina Jolie.

Eat, Pray, Love...The Movie

I was one of the last people on earth to read Eat, Pray Love when it came out in 2006.  I saw Elizabeth Gilbert on Oprah and I thought if Oprah liked her then I should like her too.

I could relate to her situation in the beginning of the book and I was jealous that she followed her heart and went on this fabulous journey.  I'm so thrilled that this book is being made into a movie and I love that Julia Roberts is going to play Elizabeth.  I think the casting is perfect!

How about you?  Did you read the book?  Are you looking forward to the movie?

Confessions of a Foodaholic

I love watching movies but I really love going to the movies because I enjoy going to the concession stand. My only issue with this is that some popcorn, a soda and a candy bar end up costing twice as much as the price of admission.

My favorite local movie theater has a food court inside and they have little trays that fit in your cup holder so you can eat an entire meal while watching the latest flick! Oh, the joy of combining my two favorite activities...eating and movies!

For this movie I chose the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with swiss cheese and extra mushrooms. It was divine! I think I shall see a movie every single week so that I may partake of this fabulous sandwich. I shall call it research for my blog! And the fries! Oh my...the fries!

My good friend Monica went with me to the movie. We haven't seen each other in two months so I felt like we had lots of catching up to do so maybe going to a movie wasn't the best way to use our time but we both desperately needed a couple hours away from our children and wanted to see this movie!

First of all. Have you seen the commercials for the new Hannah Montana movie? I got all choked up and was fighting back tears and trying to hide that fact from Monica. I don't like Hannah. Why on earth did the preview effect me so much? Am I pre-menopausal? Is it PMS already? With God as my witness....I will not become a slave to Smily Miley!

The movie. Confessions of a Shopaholic. LOVED IT!

I carefully chose my outfit for the movie and for the weather and decided to wear my GREEN cashmere scarf. Imagine my surprise when a GREEN scarf makes an important appearance in the movie. I felt so fashionable and special sitting there in my seat holding an entire Belly Buster of Coke in my bladder.

I loved the costumes. Even though some of them reminded me a little teeny bit of something Ugly Betty would wear. And I thought Isla Fisher did a great job as Rebecca Bloomwood.

Becky's boss. *Swoon* I totally fall in love with accents and his is so yummy. I wanted to climb into the screen and let him give me a little whisker burn. His real name is Hugh Dancy....doesn't that just sound....so....british?? Holy Crap! I just found out he is engaged to Claire Danes!
I am disturbed about something. Joan Cusack....I tend to think of her as being MY AGE. And I don't like the fact that someone that I consider to be MY AGE...is playing the mother of a 20 something in a movie. It made me feel a little bit OLD!

Monica and I made a pledge at the beginning of the movie that we would NEVER purchase ugly shoes for our daughters. NEVER! I loved the scenes when the mannequins would talk to her and I loved the debt collector guy...but I always like the geeky guys!

My favorite scenes of all....when she is dancing in Florida, when she fights for a pair of super ugly boots and when she is thawing her credit card out of an ice block.

And of course...I love a happy ending!
