10 Ways to Beat Boredom

The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.  ~Ellen Parr

I think there are very few times that I have ever been bored in my life....well, except for September 2002 to April 2003 when I dated a 40 year old GREEK Electrical Engineer that lived with his parents.  That was an experience I could have done without...his Mom kept feeding me and then telling me I needed to *make diet*.  I barely escaped from that situation....if you want to hear the story about this guy, then take the poll over on the left.

Mama Kat has a great list of prompts this week and since I wrote yesterday about blogging block...I thought this prompt was perfect!

Write a list of 10 things that can be done to stave off boredom.

1.  Look through your husband's old boxes for pictures and letters from old girlfriends.

2.  Eat cookies while watching the channel that has exercising on it.

3.  Read my blog.

4.  Take up a craft.

5.  Research a vacation destination.

6.  Go shopping with Bobbi.

7.  Write in a Journal

8.  Watch You Tube Video's of Panda's sneezing.

9.  Read a Jen Lancaster Book

10.  Exercise

Boredom: The desire for desires. ~ Leo Tolstoy

  1. LMAO at #1! I've totally done this... along with looking at photos from when my husband went to Cancun before I even knew he existed. I was still mad at him for having fun without me.

  2. Love your list, especially eating cookies while watching an excersise program. Funny thing, I am usually eating ice-cream while watching the Biggest Loser! :) I also think I am going to like Robert P. better after seeing the Remember Me movie!

  3. Ok, those are great but when are you going to tell the story about you and the Greek. I wanna hear that story.

  4. I am guilty of 1, 2, and 3. I even discovered Mr. D was ENGAGED once before! Oh did the shit hit the fan then!!!

  5. Jen...I will tell it if y'all want to hear it.

    I'll make a poll.

  6. I want to hear it!!! And #2 had me laughing. That is something I would do. Those mini chocolate chip cookies don't really count, do they? I mean, they're so little!

  7. I remember the Greek dude! I also remember him breaking up with you at the dinner table, then coming back to give you your key and walking out slowly like you were going to beg him to stay!

  8. eating while watching exercising....genius!

  9. What a great list :) I have never seen that panda video before...I am crying with laughter. Can't wait to hear about your Big Fat Boring Greek Boyfriend!

  10. I love how exercising is last on your the other things keep you so busy you usually don't need to stoop so low as to actually exercise. too!

  11. I have done or would love to do 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 & 8....
    This os a great post.

I cannot imagine you ever being bored, so I'm glad you prefaced the post with your first paragraph.
I have voted in your poll, I can't wait to hear the story of the Greek!

  12. Those are great!! Maybe you can eat cookies, while exercise TV is on, AS you are going through your husbands things! ;)

  13. We would love to invite you to a bloggers club where the best blogs gather for fun, learning and more fun. It is new and we are looking for great bloggers and thought of you.

  14. What! We can't eat cookies while watching exercise on TV anymore! For shame...LOL

  15. Great post! #1 had me laughing so hard, I almost cried!

    I like #3 too! :)

  16. Great list. No. 1 wish I can do that LOL but husband doesn't keep them LOL.

  17. Like we wouldn't want to hear the story of your big, fat greek boyfriend. Give me a break.

  18. I'm rarely bored either. And what was up with that Greek guy? Sounds horrid.
