During the last month, I have been VERY busy. I bought our Christmas Cards, I purchased (and returned) and re-purchased Christmas Outfits for the kids. I located and bought a couple more Christmas presents AND my Christmas Pajamas. You will now find plenty of Christmas items in the stores and Disney/Nickelodeon/Noggin are starting to play toy commercials.
Christmas in October: Things to Do!
- Decide on treats to make (carried over from last month)
- Purchase most Christmas Presents....small items for baskets.
- Make list of ingredients for Goodies, start buying.
- Purchase the kid's Christmas Pajamas.
- Start Holiday Letter outline.
- Find and purchase Elves...start notebook of things they are going to do.
- Go through Christmas Card List...decide who is getting cards this year.
- Take Christmas picture of the kids to put in the cards. Order photos.
Wow! I have a lot of work to do....I better get busy!
The Crate and Barrel catalog came in the mail yesterday! I found something that I have to have....a Silver Serving Stand! And if you are looking for a bag of coal you will find it there.
This month....it is also time to plan your Thanksgiving Meal and start putting the ingredients on your shopping list. Buying a little during each grocery trip to spread the cost out over the month. I am adding two new recipes this year. Big Martha's Mashed Potatoes with Cream Cheese and Woven Breadstick Wreaths. The Wreaths are featured in Martha Stewart Living November 2008.
I am so excited for this year's feel good Christmas movie featuring Vince Vaughn! It is called Four Christmases and it looks so hilarious! It starts November 26th....here is the movie trailer!
Come back on Monday for my GIVEAWAY!
Those are very helpful tips. I applaud your organization and discipline!
ReplyDeleteI am not worthy!
ReplyDeleteI aspire to have your Christmas Organization skills.
That profile picture of you and that adorable little boy is what drove me to visit your page. Thanks for the heads up about the movie. I just love Vince Vaughn. I think he is SO funny!
ReplyDeleteYou are just like Martha Stewart! I haven't even begun half the things you've already accomplished!
ReplyDeleteShowoff!!
Thanks for the tips, you are so organized. Wow! You give me inspiration.
ReplyDeleteChristmas cards! Maybe this year... It's been a while since I've gotten my act together for the cards. But in my defense it's next to impossible to get all of my kids to pose together.
ReplyDeletewe usually end up with valentine's day cards.
ReplyDeletelike we are creative or something...but really...just procrastinators.
shh...don't tell.
also...i have a give-away on monday too. oh yeah...that's tomorrow.
You are WAY too organized -- I think you're giving me a complex :-) Seriously, you are super mom! I think Vince Vaughn is so funny. That looks like a funny movie. Hope you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's the tricky part, isn't it? Deciding who to send cards to. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are always on my list. But what about even more extended family? What about friends?
ReplyDeleteThe ones I see often I still send cards to- especially when I know I'll be getting one from them. Old friends? Some.
Hmm... are they going to send ME a card? I usually send out atleast 20 but I usually only recieve about a quarter of that. Doesn't seem right, does it?!
I suppose I'll feel guilty if someone gets taken off my list, so I'll just keep sending them... *sigh*
You are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI did buy the shirt the boys are going to wear, just have to find some pants now!
I had a real laugh at the movie trailer, may have to drag the husband to see it!
