This Is The New Year!

“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.”

- Marianne Williamson, author & speaker.

A list of 20 ideas to make this your best year yet.

*The sung by Ian Axel and I had the pleasure of hearing him sing in person at the Double Encore Release Party in November. He's amazing!

This post was inspired by Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop!

  1. I love the idea of booking regular messages. I only get to go once a year but I should definitely change that!

  2. I truly believe that massage is healing! Or I'm willing to do an experiment and find out.

Maybe I need a government grant or something. OHHHH...stimulus money. Is there any of that left?

  3. I love, love, LOVE this post! It spoke to me today. A list that is actually doable and attainable and fits WHO YOU ARE!

    love you!

  4. Great song, great list Connie!

  5. MMMM....cheese....mmmm...

Have you ever heard of the song "Dream Big"? Its an older song & I hate country but its one of my favorites!

  6. I'm going to look for that song right now!

  7. I love this list! So many good ideas that will make you smile and they are do-able!!!

  8. What a great list to motivate you and make you happy and it's all totally doable!!

  9. Oooh I like the song. Thanks for sharing it!

  10. I'm addicted to the song. I think I've played it 100 times!

  11. I buy myself flowers every week! On each weekly visit to the grocery store, I pick up flowers. I dont get picky. I for whats on sale. Sometimes its only $3 or $5...this week I splurged to get my fave flowers...tulips were $9! I put the flowers in my kitchen each week and every time Im in there it just brightens my day

  12. I'm in the library so I can't listen to the song right now but I will when I get home ;) I LOVE this list and except for the chocolate part (I'd be down for the count with a migraine) plan to do many of the same things. Thanks for sharing this.

  13. I just found my headphones...LOVE it! I am off to download it and hope Z loves it too because he is in charge of our playlist at home ;)

  14. Love the song and the ideas! I can see that I missed a lot of things while writing my own 20 things!

Thanks for sharing. Stopping by via Mama Kat's!

  15. How sad is that I couldn't come up with 20 things. But I like your list. I might just steal it.

  16. Right off the bat, 3, 7, 8, and 12 really jump out at me. I've never had a massage!

  17. I love your list except I'm envious of #11. There are not enough restaurants for us to try a new one every month. We only have about 5. Small town life blows. I'm not sure what that means but it sounded good. Oh and I'm not a coffee drinker so I would replace #12 with "Drink Captain Morgan".

  18. Hey, thanks for the intro to Mr. Axel. I really like him! (Is he super-famous and I just don't have a clue?) ((Not unlikely)) I also love massages and coffee and cheese and chocolate and will do #20 by waving my pinky in a tiny little circle. Thanks for the inspiration.

  19. That's a fabulous list - I need to do the 'sit and observe' part more often :) I could never keep my fingers painted a pretty color - I can't even get them dry without smudging them up :( Toes definitely though!

  20. #'s 6, 9, 12, 14 are all awesome. Well, they all are really, but these grab me! God luck with all that ambition and the constipation from the cheese dpt!

  21. I love flowers and chocolate and good coffee and making new friends!!!!!

  22. LOVE it Connie... I wish I could wake up and dance.

  23. I'm all for the chocolate! I always have good intentions of regular massages. When I do get myself there I feel so wonderful and vow not to wait so long until the next one. Then somehow, I don't make it back for another 6 months.

  24. I think to get regular massages....I'm going to have to buy one of those packages of 6 and schedule them all in one year.

I'm bad about doing things for myself.

  25. What a fantastic list and definitely something that I could strive to do. I could so use a regular massage and would LOVE to try a new restaurant every month.
I love how positive you are this year!

I love you. You are my best friend! Your hair looks fantastic today!
