788, 922

I know I've touched on it before....but I'm so in love with my life.  Being here everyday with my kids and watching and enjoying every single thing they learn and do is the most amazing gift.  Knowing that I got to be here with them for all of their moments will be something I always hold in my heart.  And I know someday when they are teenagers and they don't like me...I'll be able to draw on those memories and remember when they were little people.

I've been in a panic for the last few days because I realized that Alex will be starting Kindergarten in 18 months.  Did you hear that?  That was the wind being sucked out of me again.  18 months will be gone in the blink of an eye.  We've been in Utah for 41 months and it feels like we just moved here yesterday.

The time is going too quickly and I have to savor every minute of the next 18 months.  788,922 minutes.   I have so much to do and thanks to my friend Sturgmom...so much to say YES to.

Oh, and can someone please explain to me how my baby...is about to be three years old?  How the heck did that happen?

So to go with the theme of loving my life and enjoying my job as a Mom...I came across this video that proves to me that what I'm doing matters and I intend to watch this every day for the next 18 months.

Get a tissue....

  1. I have my third going to kindergarten in less then 6 months. It still crushes me...even on the third kiddo. One more after that...and nor more little ones at home with me everyday. BUT...I love the young woman...and young man that #1 and #2 are becoming. It IS all good. Glad to be where I am. :) Enjoy the next 18 months!

  2. It is true, the first 5 years FLY by. One minute they are 2, still practically a baby... then you are buying them school supplies and walking them into kindergarten, and they aren't totally "yours" anymore. The world suddenly has as much influence as you. It's scary.

I guess I am being a downer here. Sorry. I've been thinking like this, too. B/C it seems like just yesterday Ace was Deuce's age and now he's in 1st grade! I wish it would go slower this time around... but something tells me it won't.

Okay, I haven't helped at all. Just embrace it.

  4. Awww, I know exactly how you feel, Connie. Kenners is five years old today, Sierra will be eight in August. My little baby is growing right into a toddler {and let me just tell you, it goes faster with each one!} Those feelings . . . they are part of the reason I LOVE homeschooling. I get to have my precious children with me every day.

  6. It does go by so fast! My oldest is 5, my middle turned 3 on Sunday and my baby will be 2 in April! One day I looked around and they were no longer babies but little girls. I need a rewind button or at the very least a pause so I can keep them right where they are for a while!!

  9. My oldest starts kindergarten in the fall. I will be crushed. The years and the memories and the moments will all culminate in that instant to crush the air right out of my lungs. I just know it. And I can do nothing to stop it.

  10. "Fast" doesn't even begin to describe my feelings on how time flies. How did my children all get so old? Graduation will be right around the corner! *SOB*

  15. What a beautiful video! Thanks for sharing it!! Don't stress about school Connie... with Grayson I had to send him to Elementary school for pre-k at 3, because of his speech delay. It was for his benefit. AND he had to go on the BIG BUS!! It was baptism by fire for me!! lol! Although, with only a few months of school left to go I can tell you this, he is one very happy little boy to get up and go everyday. He looks forward to seeing his friends and comes home full of wonderful stories and new things he's learning. Although I miss him, at the end of the day I look forward to hearing all about his day.

  17. Sarah starts preschool in the fall, and Jason the following year - while I'm excited, it still terrifies me. Time flies SO FAST! That said - while little ones are sweet, once they're older & you can really TALK with them - those are good times too. Just enjoy every moment!
