Then around 10:30am I received a couple comments from Amy in Ohio on my Connie Diaries posts. I didn't read them right away because I was fixing a snack for the kids but when I finally did...my face flushed and my heart started to race!
She told me that JEN LANCASTER sent her.
For a moment, I was stunned. Jen Lancaster...my favorite author of all time? Why would she....oh wait. OH MY HECK! I raced to Jen's blog and well...you go see for yourself. I'll wait.

So...I was all excited and I emailed my sister and everyone I know and told them to go look and it was like being on Oprah except better because I was still in my pajamas. I watched my statcounter all day and saw people from all over the world visiting my little blog. I gained some new friends and a few people commented and I didn't feel lonely anymore. It was a great day! Seriously, it was the most excitement this stay at home mom as had in a long time!
EDITED: Today's 80 picture at Jennsylvania shows a 80's wedding. Go look at the picture here. And then check out this picture from my first wedding. Bobbi was my lucky bridesmaid/flowergirl/gum smacker in the wedding.
Speaking of Oprah. Did you watch her show yesterday? She was supposedly revealing all the secrets of being a Mommy. There are secrets? The show was entertaining because most of the talk was about how horrific being a mother is. Even though I have a bad day here and there, for the most part I love being a Mom and being home with the kids. And I have to tell you that I don't think I would EVER pee in one of my kids diapers. I thought it was interesting that she had some Mommy Bloggers on but never mentioned that they were bloggers. Is that a dirty word when it is paired with MOMMY?
Please head over to my friend Monica's new blog and sign up to win a beautiful necklace! Today is the last day so hurry!

How fun for you to get a shout out from someone you admire!
ReplyDeleteAnd I went to the spa site and left a vote for you. I so hope you'd get chosen. You would be perfect.
I hear ya about Oprah. I kept waiting for the joys to be mentioned. Don't get me wrong, I luvs me a good Mommy-laugh about something silly or sinful one of us has done, but it's not ALL negative. Right? Right?
ReplyDeleteI posted about it too, couldn't help it.
That is so seriously exciting that you and Bobbi are on her blog! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI'm from Jen's too! The photo over there absolutely cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteI love Jen too! That's so cool that she used a picture of us!
ReplyDeleteYou're never going to forget that I was chewing gum during your wedding are you? I forgot I had it!!!
I too am from Jen's. I love her so much!I'm 48 and my daughters are now 14 and 17 (I won't scare you about teenagers, you'll find out soon enough)so I'm waaayy past where you are now, but I lived through it. I sure wish there was the internet and blogging back when I was a stay at home mom with little ones. It would have been wonderful to have had someone like you to share thoughts and feelings and stories and tips and let me know I was doing a great job. I have always said, being a full time mom is the hardest job I've ever had, but the most fulfilling. I am thankful everyday that I am (and, yes, still am...teens still need guidance) a stay at home mom! Bless you! And all moms with little ones, enjoy it. It goes by so fast. (p.s. I know this doesn't really go with you blog, but just wanted to give you a shout out on a great job.
ReplyDeleteI came here from Jen Lancaster's page, and will share your blog (and your other one!) with EVERYONE. You SO talk for me. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI have to confess, I don't know who Jan Lancaster is, BUT... I am now aware of how famous she is and I think it's fantastic that you received some much deserved traffic! Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteI think I first heard of Jen Lancaster from you. I'll have to pick up one of her books. Which do you recommend.

ReplyDeletelol, I actually found your blog on Csquared first, and then noticed you on Jen's b/c of the 80s pic. HILARIOUS!! I'll be back, you have a great blog!
ReplyDeleteHey, there! Just figured I'd join those of us admitting we began lurking here because of Jen's recent post. She is pretty awesome -- I stalk, er, read Jennsylvania religiously and pre-ordered "Pretty in Plaid" monnnnnths ago. However, I've totally enjoyed diving into the Connie Diaries. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very big deal! I'm reading one of her books for the first time right now and it's hilarious. Your 80's picture was classic!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I heart Jen and you make me laugh at least once a day so I heart you too. More power (and readers) to ya Girlfriend!
ReplyDeleteJust one question? Oprah knows what about mothering exactly? I'm just sayin'.
How awesome is that?....I can see why you would be so super excited...and I saw that Oprah episode too...and found myself saying..."oh no you didn't" a few times...I guess it was just a televeised rant session...oh well..such is life....but still congrats again...awesome...
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize some of those women were bloggers. And I agree that the show just seemed a tad negative...and peeing in a diaper?? I don't even want to THINK about how she might have accomplished that!!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog - love the old diary entries! I read Jen's blog, and I'm glad to have found you too!
