Viva Las Vegas

I have been wanting to take a little trip alone with my husband for a while now. It is hard to make that happen when you have to find someone to stay with your kids while you escape! So the other day when my brother in law called and said he was changing jobs and was taking a few days off in between I jumped at the chance and asked him to come to Utah. He said YES! He has successfully taken care of his cat Andre for almost a year now....so I figured he is responsible enough to care for my children.

I called my other brother in law (he's a travel agent) and booked a weekend trip to New York New York in Las Vegas! We leave in a little over two weeks!

And now....I have to figure out what to wear! You have no idea how excited I am to shop for this little trip. I will be blogging about that journey on my shopping blog.

The last time I was in Vegas for Thanksgiving 2006. We had just moved to Utah and we met the whole family there for the holiday. It wasn't the most enjoyable experience because Alex was 6 months old and I was 4 months pregnant! Based on the little bit of the 'The Strip' that I saw, I knew I wanted to go back someday with Calvin without the kids so that we could really enjoy it.

We spent some time last night figuring out what restaurants and shows we want to see. There is so much to do and I can't wait to party like a Rockstar!

Have you been to Vegas? Do you have a favorite restaurant, shop, hotel, spa, hangover remedy?

  1. I haven't been to Vegas in a few years, but it's always a treat. You should shop when you get there. My last trip was in the month of February with my mother. We hit all the great shops at Caesar's Palace and the sales this time of year are fantastic! Bring an empty suitcase!

  5. The Forum Shops in Ceasar's Palace are great for shopping!
The shops in the Bellagio are nice too but VERY expensive.
They new Planet Hollywood hotel is awesome and I think they put some stores in it like Ceasars. There is one more hotel that has great shops but I can't think of it offhand, so I'll get back to you on it.

    BTW, sooo jealous!

  10. We got married at Caesar's Palace 5 yrs ago, but we haven't been back there since. I had a blast just walking the strip and checking out the themes at every hotel. The Volcano, the water show, the gondola so much fun!
