What I Wore: West Point Edition

I've been documenting my outfits for the last couple weeks because I'm so proud of myself!

You see...I spent 5 years in workout gear and a pony tail.  And I wasn't working out.  I had nowhere to go and no reason to dress for the day.  Well....occasionally, I'd go somewhere and I'd wear some jeans and a sweater but those days were few and far between.

I have dressed (no work out clothes), done my make up and hair every day since August 18th.  What is so special about August 18th?  It's the first day of Kindergarten!

I finally have somewhere to go every day.  Most days....it's just to pick up my son.  But some days, it's school or PTA meetings, tumbling class and play dates.

The best part of all of this is that I'm having so much fun planning my outfits and accessories and I feel so much better about myself.

Here are my outfits from this week.  I document them on my fan page if you want to see more.

  1. Look at you lookin' all hot and stuff when it's freakin' freezing up there! So what you're saying is, when I fly to Denver on Dec. 1st, It's only gonna be worse than 39 degrees? I may need to back out of going. Mom would understand.

  2. I love you Connie! I love that you're feeling better about yourself too!

I have transitioned back to my "Mom uniform" now that my girls are older and my time at the school is little to none. It's making me feel frumpy some days but I;m so comfortable in my yoga pants!

I may take a picture of myself each day that I actually get dressed this week and share them, maybe then I won't feel like such a slob!

  4. I'm loving all those outfits, super cute!

I am like you used to be. Yoga pants and t-shirt! With my son in a online school at home, I just have no reason to get dressed. There are days, especially in the winter when it really bad out, I just change into clean pj's lol

  5. I need an inspiration to get myself pulled together each day... being home on maternity leave has put me in a pajama mode all day long most days and maybe a shower? eek! I should do this too! Although I am in dire need of cute clothes!

  7. I love your outfits! And I totally know what you mean, too. When my daughter started kindergarten, the morning drop-off routine was like a kickstart to my social schedule. You look great!

  13. Monday's my fav but it could be because you drink wine the way I do! :-) Go you getting all fancy every day. I've worn real clothes (not sweats) a total of maybe 3 times this past week. I don't get out enough!!

  14. Love this. I totally need to make a little effort. (You should see me at the bus stop in the morning. It is a sad, sad sight.) I love Monday and Tuesday the best, esp. Tuesday, even without the wine bottle, but it does set off the warm highlights in your hair. Love the necklace too. This was better than reading the "What I Wore" column in the Times Styles section, because their outfits always cost what I make in a month. Must investigate those jeans because they look excellent. PS: next time, let us see your bedazzled ass in the gray pants.

  15. Good for you! I do my hair and makeup about 2 days a week on average lately. I am in workout clothes at least three days a week but I do workout- it is at 8:45-9:45- so by the time I get home, cool down and shower it is almost lunch time so I don't bother doing my hair or makeup.
    Love your scarf!
