Rob's Christmas Party & Other Crap

Hey!

Not much going on here.  Just counting down the days until I get to feed my father in law and watch him get drunk Christmas.

We didn't get to see Elvis at the apartment complex Christmas Party.  iKeith was working late and then I had to go out with Robert to get the goodies for his Christmas/Open House/Housewarming party the next night.  We had a great time shopping and I loved spending his money!

The party was a huge success and I think everyone went home tipsy happy! Do you think we had enough booze selections?

I had a blast planning the party, food and drinks.  We had three different kinds of wine, seven kinds of beer, sushi, meatballs, little quiches, tortilla roll ups, pigs in a blanket and three different kinds of cheese with crackers. The dessert table had Christmas Cookies and Tiramisu made by Robert.  I assisted Rob during the party by replenishing food, filling glasses and taking people's coats. It was exhausting! I'm not sure if this will be a career path for me because I decided my fee is $10,000 per party.  Also, my kids missed me desperately during the time I was away. It broke my heart and convinced me I'm right where I'm supposed to be.

My Children...have no desire to talk to Santa.  They don't want to see him, write him a letter, text him, email him or tweet him.  They could care less.  In other news...they love baby Jesus and keep moving him all over the house. I think we'll celebrate Hanukkah next year.  HOLY GOSH...I just spelled Hanukkah correctly.

I went to the mall yesterday because I had to have a pair of dress pants to wear to iKeith's Christmas Party tonight.  We will be partying like rock stars in a suite at the Pepsi Center during an Avalanche game!  I'm super excited! 

While at the mall, we ate Subway (EAT FRESH) at the food court and I noticed the kids were making funny faces.  Mallory finally did this and said LOSER.  I turned around to see some teenagers making faces at my kids.

I think she's been watching too much GLEE.

Do you have an iPhone?  Do you notice that Apple is messing with you and making words change to silly words that you're not trying to spell.  Well, there's a whole website devoted to these mistakes now.  Damn You Auto Correct.  This one is my favorite:

Hmmm....looks like I had more to say than I thought I did.  If you're totally bored and miss me posting every single day...check out the box at the top of the blog called REVERB.  I've been pretty good about keeping up with the prompts.  I got a little behind over the weekend when I took a three day computer break but I'm catching up now.

My Favorite Outfit

My husband....loves tights on women. You would think because I know this that I'd wear them all the time but I don't need that kind of trouble. I'd never get anything done because he'd be all over me all the time.

Yesterday, I was Christmas Shopping at Target (by myself) and as I was leaving the building the woman ahead of me had on the most adorable outfit! I chased her across the parking lot trying to take a picture of her but she was walking super fast. I guess her boots where made for walking.

All day...I couldn't stop thinking about that outfit and I decided to try and put one together for myself. Here's what I came up with. What do you think?

Weekend Tea Parties and Shopping with Friends

We had a great time at our tea party on Saturday. Alex and Calvin left for Denver early and Alex was so excited for his trip.  Yesterday he had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese....he's never been there before and he loved it!

I put the invitation inside the hats....so that they would be able to wear their hat to the party.  Gabby's dog ate her hat but luckily we had a spare.

There was some drama (and stomping and door slamming) an hour before the party started when Mallory got upset because her friends hadn't arrived yet.  I couldn't get her to understand that they weren't supposed to be at our house yet.  I swear she is 3 going on 13!

We served blueberry muffins in tulip liners that I found at Joanns, mini cherry danishes, cookies and fruit salad with greek yogurt.  And an assortment of tea and I had back up juice boxes in case the kids didn't like the organic, white citrus tea.  Mallory is now addicted to tea and has requested that she be served Tea and Crumpets in the drawing room.

I made birdhouse decorations for the party.  I knew I wanted to mod podge them but quickly discovered that  I would have to paint some of the house to make it easier on myself.  Because, friend...let me tell you...cutting out those little hearts on the front will drive you to drink!  I got all crazy with the roof on the yellow and green houses.  If you decide to cut up 300 little squares and glue them on a birdhouse...make sure your kids are asleep first!  I bought the buttons for another project and decided to add them at the last minute.  I think it turned out cute.  What do you think?



Yesterday we had an amazing day!  We met my friend Chrisy in Salt Lake City and we had brunch at  Pago. (Click here for more about the food.)  It was amazing...can't wait to go back.  Then we did some shopping at Hip and Humble and The Trolley Square Mall.  This is my second time meeting up with Chrisy...we both love good food and last time we went to The Tin Angel.  Click HERE for that story.

Mallory was so funny!  She kept posing on the lounge chairs in Restoration Hardware and asking me to take her picture. I think I need to get her an agent!   I really liked the deepness of this leather couch until Chrisy demonstrated that I'd feel like a toddler when I sat on it!

And then we went to Target...because I weekend just isn't complete without dropping $100 bucks there.

A Poor Man's Lelli Kelly Shoes

This is one of my favorite songs because I love shoes.  I knew it was only a matter of time before the shoe bug bit my daughter because she is all of the best parts of me.  I just didn't expect this to happen a few days after her 3rd birthday.  I thought I had a couple more years.....


Have you seen the commercials and heard the annoying jingle for the Lelli Kelly Shoes?  Mallory has been mesmerized by them and begging for a pair of Wiley Kylie Shoes (this is what she calls them).  They are a european shoe company that carries canvas shoes with colorful sequins and rhinestones and some have designs on them.  Here  is what they look like...they are adorable! 

As soon as I figured out what Wiley Kylie shoes were I started looking for them online and I soon discovered that Lelli Kelly is out of her ever loving mind. There is no chance that I will spend $70 on a pair of shoes for a 13 3 year old. Never. gonna. happen.

Then I remembered that I'm a little bit crafty and I started looking for some plain canvas shoes to decorate for my little princess. This was harder than it seems. I finally found some at Wal.Mart but they only had one pair left in her size...GREEN.

Did I tell you there was a baby boom here 3 years ago. I've had to order (or travel to Denver for) most all of Mallory's shoes because her size is always sold out. It's Bananas!

Introducing....Wiley Kylie Shoes!

So...Mallory. Thinks these are REAL Lelli Kelly shoes and if any of you tell her they aren't....I'll hunt you down and make you buy health care. If you want to send me a free pair of Lelli Kelly shoes or you want to purchase a pair for my daughter because you feel sorry for her that she has to wear faux Lelli Kelly shoes...she wears a size 7. Size 24 in european sizing.

Do You Have These Barbies?

Bobbi and I took the kids out shopping with us today so that Calvin could get some work done. Mallory had a gift card to Target from her Grandparents to use so we spent some time in the toy section. She has two Barbies now so we encouraged her to get some accessories for them. While we were ransacking the Barbie stuff I noticed that they are finally making true to life Barbies.

Lonely Barbie comes with Three Dogs and numerous bows and collars to dress up your fur babies.  Also comes with a year subscription to Cosmopolitan and a Pint of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.

Finally!!  I've been looking for Stay At Home Mom Barbie for years!  This Barbie comes with a potty training toddler, a toilet, toilet paper and a sink.  AND the toilet really flushes!  This Barbie also comes with a bottle of Grey Goose and a bag of Dove Chocolate.

Mallory really wanted this set of accessories for her Barbies but I had to point out to her that this is for ages 23 and up.  This one is for adults that still play with Barbies and want them to be slutty.  It comes with a Martini glass. 6 inch heels and a couple outfits.

Santa and The Color Purple

Hey everyone! It's been a crazy couple of days...staying really busy and visiting friends. Yesterday was all about the kids! We decided it was finally time for them to meet Santa.  Someone please tell me if not allowing parents to photograph their kids with Santa is the norm?  I refused to pay for their photo packages so I snuck across the way and took my own pictures.

Mallory was too afraid to sit by Santa but when he asked her what she wanted for Christmas she said a Pink Bicycle!  And then he fist bumped her.  That Santa is a cool dude.

Alex had a great chat with Santa about the trains he owns and the one's he wants. I was most impressed that this Santa knows his stuff....Alex said pink train and he knew it was named Rosie.

We also went to the Denver Aquarium in Downtown Denver.  The kids loved seeing all of the fish and were surprised to see Tigers there too.  We had lunch in their restaurant and were able to sit right next to the giant fish tank that takes up half of the eatery.

We ate with the Fishies.

Mallory and I left the boys in the Apple store and we went searching for a purple dress.  She just loves the color purple and wanted a dress to add to her now growing collection.  We hit the mother load in Macy's and she ended up selecting a beautiful dark purple knit sweater.  She was so much fun to shop with and I'm so thrilled that she is my shopping buddy!

We also needed to visit Invesco Field at Mile High because the kids needed some Bronco Gear.  We suspect that we are responsible for the Bronco's decline over the last four weeks because our children didn't have proper attire.

You just wait until Thursday.  GO BRONCOS!

Today...we're going shopping again.  The Target in Ogden was completely sold out of any size 7 shoes for poor Mally (due to the baby boom of 2007) and now I need some boots since I fell in a snow bank yesterday.
