Until the big day.
The day that most kids wait all year for.
Christmas.
Jesususus Birthday! (if you're a fan of Melissa Gorga of Real Housewives of New Jersey)
It's time to start planning....is what I'm trying to say.
I can hear it already.....But Connie....It's July and it's 105 degrees.
I know, I know...but this is the perfect time to make your list and start thinking of gift ideas and pinning things on pinterest.
You ARE on pinterest right?

All I want you to do this month.....is make a list of people you need/want to buy gifts for and write a few out a few ideas. Dream big. You can always pare it down later. Really think about these people and what they love and would love to get from you. Sometimes...when we think about what would make someone really happy...we find a great idea that is grand..but doable. Especially if you start NOW.
And if you are still in the mood. BUY ONE GIFT THIS MONTH.
Crossing one gift off your list for your kids or husband....will make you feel great and put you one step toward having your gifts all purchased.
Now....go have a cup of iced Hot Chocolate and pat yourself on the back.
I feel a little cooler thinking about Christmas...
ReplyDeleteTwo nephews, three nieces - all I must worry about, LOL. Three of their birthdays are coming up, so I don't even worry about Christmas until October...
Oh man, this little cafe where I went to college made the best frozen hot chocolate. They called it a "Chilly Bear". I miss it. Dunkin Donuts' didn't even come close (and apparently everyone else thought the same thing because it was only around for like 2 weeks).
ReplyDeleteIt's too early for Christmas. I can't do it. I'm the fool out on Christmas Eve with my bonus check money getting all of my gifts. It's how I roll.
I am all for cooler weather but not ready for Christmas yet.
ReplyDeleteYou are just like one of my real-life friends! She starts counting down on December 26th. LOL. ;o)
ReplyDeleteAs far as getting prepared for Christmas, I still haven't bought my dad a birthday gift and his birthday was two weeks ago. If I get him a gift by September, I consider that fashionably late. ;o)
However, I will TRY to make a list of the people I need to buy for this week. Because you're right...I need to be better about my gift-giving. :O)
I especially like the idea of iced hot chocolate. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this! I'm a christmas-aholic! It doesn't hurt that mine and my oldest girls bdays are in Dec as well. LOVE me some holidays!!
ReplyDeleteYou're very smart! I save all year, but I don't end up buying anything until right before Thanksgiving. I really should though!
ReplyDeleteI've put half the kids presents on lay away (is that what it's called over there?) already but buying for adults is a NIGHTMARE.
ReplyDeleteAdults should write letters to Santa too, don't you think?
I've been buying stuff for Christmas since March. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and I think this is going to be an amazing Christmas! I will be following this plan. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
ReplyDeleteSo, what did you buy????
ReplyDeleteAnd did you put me on your list? I still want an iPad from my favorite iCouple. What? You said "dream big"!!

You always do Christmas so wonderfully, I would love to spend it at your house, but you live in a part of the country that is way too cold for me.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be proud of me, I have already started my list and started saving money, PLUS, I have already purchsed TWO gifts, one for my youngest son and one for my grandson. WooHoo - I am on my way.
LOL @ Melissa Gorga! Have you read the Real Housewives blog on the Bravo.com site? Jay Mahr (I Think) writes a comedic blog about the episodes and it's really funny. In it he mentioned Melissa Praising Jesus...I wish I could remember exactly because it was great.
ReplyDeleteThis Christmas we are so poor I don't want to think about it yet!
