Crap!
Now what?
I'm looking into two alternatives. Feedly and NewsBlur. Both have mobile apps so that's nice. I'm researching and testing them now and I'll let you know what I find out.
Stay Tuned.
Okay. I just spent some time check out the two options that I found and I'm putting my money and my blog favorites in.....FEEDLY! Now only is it super easy to use and import your old google reader, but it has a mobile app that is easy to use. AND they have already addressed the problem on their blog. WINNING!
Go to their blog here to find out how to seamlessly change over your reader.
I just posted a tutorial about how to use Feedly.
I know! I just saw that too. Google's getting rid of iGoogle too. What am I supposed to do?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking into alternatives. Stay tuned!
DeleteI found this post listing alternatives:

WTF? Why? Do they hate us or something? Good grief. All right, what's our second choice? GAH! What are we supposed to do with our feeds as bloggers?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking into it. There are choices.
DeleteYou are awesome!! Thank you- and look forward to your post with more info tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHave a look at http://Totally.Me if you are looking for a alternative for both Google Reader and iGoogle (shutting down on November 1). Totally.Me offers a visualized experience for all your Social Updates and News Headlines.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to divorce myself of all things Google. They hate the 4th Amendment, too, keeping files on us and whatnot.
ReplyDeleteI saw other blogger pals posting about this on FB yesterday, and I was all "pshhhh they'll never get rid of Google Reader". And then I logged in this morning and got my warning. Sonofabitch. Thanks for posting this info, I'm off to look into Feedly!
ReplyDeleteGlad I have you to figure these things out for me and report back!
ReplyDeleteSo as I was switching to feedly I discovered I don't actually use google reader on my laptop, I use the blogger dashboard. I was goingto switch to feedly anyways but I don't have firefox... apparently I need that???
ReplyDeleteI did switch my cell phone to feedly though & I have to say I like the set up of it!
