90 Days Smarter

This school year has been so wonderful.  Such a vast difference from last year when Alex's class was torn in two because of some parents that we'ren't happy.  I'm so pleased that I've made several good friends and that we'll be sharing this school experience together for the next 13 years.

One thing that I've really enjoyed watching is Mallory's growth as a person and a student. She takes school very seriously and gets upset with classmates that don't follow the rules.  She frequently reports to me who is on yellow and red.

She works very hard and is beyond excited to become a 1st grader.

That day will be here before you know it and that fact was all the more clear to me when she came home from school on Monday.

She is 90 days smarter.

Somebody Loves Me...or Pizza

To say that my daughter is excited to start Kindergarten is an understatement.  She was ready a year ago when her brother was getting ready to go.  She couldn't understand why he could attend she wasn't old enough.

This girl is so ready!

The other day, the kids were working hard on something that was TOP SECRET.  It ended up being a scavenger hunt for me and I had to find three pieces of paper that were hidden in different locations.  For a hint, I could push a button on my children and a robotic voice would give me a clue.

It took me forever to find them but it was worth it.

Each piece of paper had a drawing on it and the words I LOVE MOMMY.  This one was my favorites.

That is either a dog (or chicken) pooping.  We don't own either so it's wishful thinking on Mallory's part.

Alex has been communicating with me via the written word too.  During Mallory's gymnastic class this week he got hungry and decided to make a note explaining what he was hungry for.

And since he did such a great job....I ordered pizza for dinner.

Proud Mommy Moments: You're Beautiful

I'm linking up with Emmy Mom and Kmama today for Proud Mommy Moments. Has your kid done or said anything funny or embarrassing this week? Link up!

I love getting together with my Kinder Mom friends because we are all very involved in the classroom and I get to hear great stories about Alex.

My friend Jennifer worked with him on making a snowman the other day and she reported to me that he looked up at her with dreamy eyes and told her she was looking really beautiful.

She told me that it was so sweet that I'm raising a very nice boy.

I didn't have the heart to tell her that this is his new thing now...he's also told the lady in the drive thru at Wendy's that she's beautiful.

Jennifer also told me that she asked Alex if he watched the Bronocs. He said....Oh yes, we have to watch or my Daddy will scream like a little girl!

It's also worth noting here that for the first 3 home games of the season, my kids thought their Dad played for the Denver Broncos. He has season tickets and we would say he was going to the game. Then I'd watch it on TV and tell the kids to look for him. Finally....Mallory asked me what color uniform he was wearing.
